Youth and Young Adult Services Librarian
Hours: An average of 37.5 Hours a Week including Nights and Weekends
Salary: $43,338.22-$54,494.11 pr/yr DOE
Hinsdale Public Library’s Youth and Young Adult Services team is searching for a customer service oriented new member who is enthusiastic about:
- engaging with patrons both in the library and out in the Hinsdale community.
- designing new services.
- developing and promoting collectionst that engage busy patrons.
Duties will include: providing reference and readers’ advisory service, collection development, outreach, and programming for Kindergarten through Eighth grade. The position will have the opportunity to create outreach opportunities particularly for middle school students and fine-tune a well-resourced collection. Developing and implementing services and collection projects collaboratively is essential to this position.
Qualifications must include a MLS or MLIS from an ALA accredited graduate school and one year of experience working with children. Full time library experience is preferred. To be considered a strong applicant, you must have an enthusiasm for working with middle school students.
