Much like how different TV shows stream on different platforms, different publishers and formats are best accessed through different Library apps. The good news: They’re all free with your HPL card.
These apps will satisfy most of your downloading and streaming needs:
- Libby offers the hottest new book and audiobook titles.
- Hoopla boasts on-demand streaming of a huge back-catalog of books, comics, music, and movies, including MasterClass titles.
- Boundless/eRead Illinois offers even more book titles to Illinois libraries.
- Kanopy has a large library of on demand video streaming. Kanopy users can access the Criterion Collection, Great Courses, and award-winning documentaries.

If you have a card at Hinsdale Public Library, you can access The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, The Washington Post, and The New York Times from your phone for free!
The New York Times also includes unlimited access to crossword puzzles and other games, as well as Wirecutter and NYT Cooking.
