The Friends of the Hinsdale Public Library contribute to the Library’s programs, services and materials through membership and community events. In recent years, the Friends have funded many programs, renovation projects, and new technologies. Support from the Friends has provided annual giveaway books for the Fourth of July Parade, an annual scholarship to a graduating page, sponsorship for After Dark events, staff recognition, and a portable speaker system. We invite you to join the Friends of the Library by filling out the application. Individual memberships are $20 and family memberships are $25. Email Friends@hinsdalelibrary.info to contact Friends of the Library.
Memorial and Honorarium books are ways to remember someone special and they also support the Library. These books may be in memory of a deceased loved one, or they may celebrate a special event such as the birth of a child, a birthday, or an anniversary. Your donation is used to purchase such a book that then becomes a part of the Library’s collection. The book will bear a specialized bookplate memorializing or honoring the person you choose. To request a memorial, please complete the Materials Donation Form and return it to the Circulation or Reference Desk. For more information please contact Ellen Smith at firstname.lastname@example.org.
