The Hinsdale Public Library is a great resource for the community-it has something for everyone of every age. Ever wonder how you can support the Library? There are several ways that you may contribute.
Donations and gifts are always welcomed to supplement the Library’s budget. Your donation is an investment in the community which will be used to enhance the Library’s collections and services. Financial donations can be made directly to the Hinsdale Public Library. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Donations also may be sent to the Hinsdale Public Library Foundation which is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt organization, established in 2001, that provides support to the Library by raising funds and seeking other contributions from the community and business partnerships. To find out about the various ways you can contribute to the Foundation, including planned giving, contact the Hinsdale Public Library Foundation.
The Friends of the Hinsdale Public Library contribute to the Library’s programs, services and materials through membership and community events. In recent years, the Friends have funded many programs, renovation projects, and new technologies. Support from the Friends has provided annual giveaway books for the Fourth of July Parade, an annual scholarship to a graduating page, sponsorship for After Dark events, staff recognition, and a portable speaker system. We invite you to join the Friends of the Library by filling out the application. Individual memberships are $20 and family memberships are $25. Email Friends@hinsdalelibrary.info to contact Friends of the Library.
Memorial and Honorarium books are ways to remember someone special and they also support the Library. These books may be in memory of a deceased loved one, or they may celebrate a special event such as the birth of a child, a birthday, or an anniversary. Your donation is used to purchase such a book that then becomes a part of the Library’s collection. The book will bear a specialized bookplate memorializing or honoring the person you choose. To request a memorial, please complete the Materials Donation Form and return it to the Circulation or Reference Desk. For more information please contact Ellen Smith at email@example.com.
