Get a Library Card
All residents of incorporated Village of Hinsdale are invited to get a Hinsdale Public Library card. This card may be used at any of the 100 libraries in the SWAN library system and is valid for three years.
Online:
• Use the form below. Your card will be mailed to you within 3 business days.
• All fields are required.
In person:
• Visit the Patron Services Desk during regular Library hours.
• Present a valid photo ID with current address and one other proof of residency such as utility bills, voter registration card, lease, or any First Class mail in your name.
• Unsure if you're a resident? Contact Library staff to find out if you qualify for a Hinsdale Public Library card, a neighboring library's card, or a non-resident card available for purchase.
• Residents under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian
Business owners may also obtain a card:
• Visit the Patron Services Desk during regular Library hours.
• Present a valid photo ID and proof of ownership/lease of an incorporated Village of Hinsdale business.

This digital card is temporary and will expire when your permanent card arrives in the mail within 2 weeks. You will need to update any accounts with your new card number when it arrives.
