Midday on April 8, 2024, Illinois will see its last total solar eclipse for several decades. While Hinsdale does not lie directly in the path of the eclipse’s “totality,” we will still see changes in the sun from our vantage point—and we are only a few hours’ drive from the real show. Eclipse Glasses Giveaway
Register March 1; pickup April 5–7
The first 400 Hinsdale Public Library Cardholders to register will receive a free pair of eclipse-viewing glasses for their household courtesy of the STAR Library Network’s SEAL Program. The Library is also donating 1500 eclipse glasses to students of District 181 to watch the eclipse safely from school.
